Commercial Solar Installation – Church on the Heath, Fleet, Hampshire (Image: Google)

This wonderfully modern church in Hampshire was completed in late 2006. In August 2023, the church trustees asked us to install a green Commercial Solar Installation system.

Forty Bisol 455W panels were mounted on the top south-east roof and connected to a 15kW Solis three-phase solar inverter, housed within the church.

Tanjent were onsite to manage all aspects of the Commercial solar installation project. This included the delivery and installation of security fencing to ensure church users were kept safe, and the delivery of a skip and a container unit to store the equipment prior to installation. The scaffolding was carried out by a local company, and again – we were onsite to ensure their installation went smoothly.

Our installers completed the panel installation within four days, which included the addition of bird netting. The site was cleared, and the church users were able to fully utilise their carpark again after only 7 days from the security fencing going up.

We revisited the church a couple of weeks after the installation to answer any outstanding questions, walk them through the shut-down and restart process and ensure they were perfectly happy with how the installation went.

*We take our reference data (estimated average UK grid intensity) as the 2022 average of 229 g/kWh from http://electricityinfo.org/real-time-british-electricity-supply and update our calculations as the data is
released.** This system performance calculation has been undertaken using the array orientation, inclination and observed shading.
