Last week I had my first ride in a BMW i8, a plug-in hybrid sports car, and was pretty impressed.
My thanks go to Ben Peters of Telematics Pro for the opportunity, as he had it on loan from Chargemaster.
I started by taking a load of pictures inside and out, and you’ll see those here.
Then I had the fun of getting in – the swing up doors are neat, but the seats are very low so there’s definitely a knack to getting in while keeping your dignity!
We had a spin along some local Milton Keynes roads and it is an impressive beast – not just good performance, but also the (partly artificial) internal sound was well done.
Having said that, I prefer the smoothness and quietness of an all-electric so look forward to trying out an i8 upgraded to all-electric one day.
